In Abeokuta South Local Government Area, Governor Dapo Abiodun inspected Ijaiye-Oke’jigbo-Isale Ake Road to understand the road’s terrible condition and to determine the fastest and best way for the government to fix it for commuters and residents.
With the inspection of His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun, the residents of Isale-Ake and Oke-Ejigbo will soon sigh as the Ogun State Governor is set to commence the reconstruction of the roads.
Governor Abiodun made the promise on Saturday while addressing the residents during the road inspection. He said he was in the area to ascertain the level of the road’s deplorable condition, urging the residents to exercise patience as efforts are on top gear to make it motorable.
Many All Progressives Congress APC members received Dapo Abiodun, who said the road would be reconstructed and fixed with modern-day equipment to enhance people’s movement within the area.
While thanking the people for their support during the last election, Governor Abiodun said the local government’s people deserve the best in appreciation of their support.
Adding to that, the Governor said the local government could not be left out in the ongoing massive infrastructural development across the state as road reconstruction exercises are taking place in Adigbe, Oke Lantoro, and Elite roads, among others.
Describing the Local Government as important to the current administration, Governor Dapo Abiodun informed that the government had made enough arrangements to assist the widows through its intervention programs to improve their welfare.
He added that the youths being regarded as the engine room of any nation’s development would also receive attention by making them more relevant in the scheme of things to allow them to contribute to the development of the state.
As the Governor promised, the contractor will be mobilised to the road within two weeks, and repair works at the box culvert around the Falode-Isale Ake axis will start immediately.
