Abeokuta South LG Educates Organised Union Riders to make use of Face Masks

The Chairman, Transition Committee Abeokuta South Local Government, Hon. Ayodeji Michael Shomide has counselled the organised union riders at Abeokuta South Local Government to take precautionary measures while seeking for their daily incomes.

This was mentioned when organised union riders picketed the secretariat rang from Amalgamated Commercial Owners Riders’ Association of Nigeria (ACOMORAN), Amalgamated Motorcycles Owners and Riders’ Association of Nigeria ( AMORAN) and Riders Owner Motorcycle Organisation (ROMO) trooped to the Secretariat today, showing concern on speculations that the council is on the move to levy them again.

Face Masks

According to the council Chairman who was ably represented by the Secretary to the LG, Alhaji Nurudeen Ayorinde explained to the drove, that the local government is not in any move to impose monies on them but to sensitise the organised union riders in ASLG on their nonchalant behaviours towards shunning the use of facemasks and two passengers or more on a Motorcycle popularly known as Okada.

The Scribe of the LG explicitly made them understand that, “health is what they say is wealth” pressed further that the local government only wants to enforce the organised union riders to use facemasks and to preserve the Riders from the spread of novel Coronavirus that is ravaging and pervading the World.

However, Ogun State Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations, A.C.P Eden Emmanuel corroborated the statements of the Secretary to the LG, urged the drove to go back to their lawful operations that the Management will in earnest profer and attend to their bothered matters.

In sync with the matters, Ogun State Secretary to Riders Owners Motorcycle Organisation (ROMO), Comrade Olalekan in his address thereafter tamed the resentment of the riders that the Council has asked them to come for a meeting next week for that is the only forum that will address the bothered displeasures.
